For 35 years, our annual event has been located at Breitenbush Event Center, 60 miles east of Salem in the Cascade Mountains and a two and a half hour drive from Oregon’s largest airport. This year, we will (again) not be there in person... but we will be there in spirit.
In September 2020, the Lionshead fire swept through Breitenbush. Some was lost, much was saved. While Breitenbush is again open to the public, they are still in the process of rebuilding and are unable to host substantial groups, so we again will not be gathering there in 2022... but we will be there in spirit. Home of the Northwest Reiki Gathering
Breitenbush Retreat and Conference Center is a worker-owned cooperative and intentional community on 154 acres of wildlife sanctuary in the Willamette National Forest of the Oregon Cascades. Hiking trails wind through old growth forest. The sacred waters of Breitenbush soothe, restore, and support us. Even the heavens bless us with the annual Perseid meteor shower, lighting up the night skies during our weekend.
The Breitenbush community is committed to faithful stewardship of its sacred land. Improvements to the rustic cabins and Lodge, and the reservoir project all reflect the ongoing dedication to sustainability.
