A Century of Reiki: Honoring Traditions
with Johannes Reindl
Weekend Gathering
Traditionally, on the second weekend in August, Reiki practitioners from around the world gather on the sacred lands of Breitenbush Hot Springs in the Cascade Mountains of Oregon to share Reiki in a lively and diverse international community. For many in the community who return year after year, the Gathering is a joyful homecoming. This year marks a new beginning.
First, we are working to meet IN PERSON for the first time since COVID came into our lives. And second, we have moved our meeting time and meeting place. Breitenbush Hot Springs suffered extreme loss during the 2020 fires. While they are rebuilding, there is limited space available to host large groups such as ours. Breitenbush is our home and we look forward to the day when our community can return to the sacred lands there.
Much like COVID, this gave us the great opportunity to explore new ways for our community to meet. This year we will meet at the lovely Menucha Retreat and Conference Center. Due to their schedule, we moved our meeting dates. The Weekend Gathering will be held the third weekend in July, with the Master Gathering following it.
The Weekend program is filled with inspiring talks from our guest speaker, large and small group discussions, group table Reiki and partner Reiki sessions, free time, stories, singing, laughter, hugs, and a few tears when we say goodbye until next year. We are working on still holding our famous dance night to celebrate our journey!
Accommodations
Accommodations are simple. We will be in the Wright Hall building which has a combination of semi-private rooms and bunk rooms. Bedding will be provided, though if you'd like your own personal affects for greater comfort you are welcome to bring them. There will be a few opportunities for locals to attend as day-commuters, returning home for the night. Arrival and Departure Times Arrival time is 5:30 pm Friday, with Registration check-in and moving into cabins, followed by dinner at 7:00 pm. The Weekend Gathering ends with lunch on Sunday. Free Time Activities Enjoy playing in the outdoor pool, relaxing on the property, or walking the beautiful trails surrounding the property! Volunteer Opportunities It takes many hands and warm hearts to make the Gathering a success. Parking lot greeters welcome participants as they arrive. Cabin Blessing Angels bless the cabins and prepare the space of our cozy home away from home. Room Angels arrange our Gathering space in the lodge, setting up chairs and Reiki tables. And many more opportunities! Please consider lending your talents and select the designated check box on the online registration form if you wish to volunteer, and you will be contacted by our Volunteer Coordinator. Scholarships We have a limited number of scholarships available for the Weekend Gathering. If you would like to apply for a scholarship and you were not awarded a scholarship in 2021, please request a Scholarship application by selecting the designated check box when you complete the online registration form, or contact our Registrar. Scholarship applications are due by April 17th, 2022. |
