A Century of Reiki: Honoring Traditions
with Johannes Reindl
Master Time
Traditionally, three days before the second weekend in August, Reiki Masters from around the world gather on the sacred lands of Breitenbush Hot Springs in the Cascade Mountains of Oregon to share Reiki and to enjoy the community of other Masters. For many in the community who return year after year, the Gathering is a joyful homecoming. This year marks a new beginning.
First, we are working to meet IN PERSON for the first time since COVID came into our lives. And second, we have moved our meeting time and meeting place. Breitenbush Hot Springs suffered extreme loss during the 2020 fires. While they are rebuilding, there is limited space available to host large groups such as ours. Breitenbush is our home and we look forward to the day when our community can return to the sacred lands there.
Much like COVID, this gave us the great opportunity to explore new ways for our community to meet. This year we will meet at the lovely Menucha Retreat and Conference Center. Due to their schedule, we moved our meeting dates. The Weekend Gathering will be held the third weekend in July, with the Master Gathering following it.
Traditionally, Master time came before the Weekend Gathering which allowed Masters to hold and prepare our meeting space for the Weekend Gathering when we were joined by First and Second Degree members of our Reiki family. This year, Master Time will come after the Weekend Gathering. We ask that if you attend this year's Master Time, you spend some time each day over the weekend to send distance Reiki to the Weekend Gathering.
