Traveling to Breitenbush, Including
On-Line Ride-Sharing
Breitenbush Hot Springs is located in the Cascade
Mountains near Detroit, Oregon about 60 miles east of Salem. Please note: There is no public transportation available
to Breitenbush.
Reiki Gathering participants merrily arrive in automobiles by ones, twos, fours and more!
The simplest route for those driving from North or South is to take I-5 to Salem. Take exit 253 from Salem and head
east toward Stayton/Detroit on Hwy 22. After crossing the Detroit Bridge, turn left onto Hwy 46 at the only gas station
in Detroit and head north. Drive 10 miles, just past Cleator Bend Campground, take a right onto the single lane bridge
crossing the Breitenbush River. The road is gravel after the bridge and has three forks in its 1 1/2 mile course.
Take a left at every fork and you will end up in the parking lot. Plan about an hour and a half travel time from Salem.

Traveling by Plane or Train
Friends
who come from distances too far to drive may wish to begin their journey by rail or plane. By planning ahead of time
with the ride-share coordinator, we may be able to arrange for fellow Reiki Gathering participants to meet and share their
traveling time. Our new Yahoo! Ride Sharing site is a useful resource.
Portland
International (PDX) is the nearest large airport. Whether you decide to rent a car yourself or be met by a fellow traveler,
you should plan on arriving
by Friday 1:00 pm at the latest
to allow time to reach Breitenbush for the beginning of the Gathering. You should schedule a return flight no earlier than 6:00 pm on Sunday at the end of the Gathering to allow sufficient
travel and check-in time. If you schedule your departure before 6:00 pm, plan on renting a car. Similar planning for time should be
anticipated when traveling by train to either Portland or Salem.
